| Controversies | • On 3 March 2004, Sachin Vaze was suspended from his services in Mumbai Police along with three other police officers on murder charges for the death of Khawaja Yunus in custody. Yunus was a suspect in the December 2002 Ghatkopar bombing case. • In 2017, a government doctor and Right To Information activist Anil Yadav was arrested by Mumbai police for his involvement in cases of money extortion and for threatening builders. Yadav named Sachin Vaze as one of his accomplices in the case. • In March 2021, Sachin Vaze was removed from his position in the crime branch of Mumbai Police because of his possible involvement in the murder of Mansukh Hiren. Vimla Hiren, Mansukh's wife, alleged that Sachin was involved in the murder of her husband. Mansukh Hiren was a part of the on-going investigation in the Ambani bomb scare case as the Scorpio car with explosives that was found outside Ambani's house on 25 February 2021 belonged to Hiren. Reportedly, Mansukh Hiren had filed an FIR against his stolen car at a police station in Mumbai. • On 11 May 2021, he was sacked by the Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in the Mukesh Ambani/Antilia bomb scare case. The order for Waze's dismissal read, "API Sachin Hindurao Waze has been dismissed from police service. Order has been issued today under Provision of 311(2)(B) Constitution of India by Commissioner of Police, Greater Mumbai." |
